Random Acts of Bev

bev.jpg

Beverly “Bev” Boss was a faith-filled woman who loved her family, children, books, cooking, and serving people in our community.  She was one who gave so much to the beginning of our Justice-for-the-Poor ministries at Community Reformed Church which then lead into forming Safe Haven Ministries.

Her attitude about life is summed up in the quote by Erma Bombeck:

“When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope
that I would not have a single bit of talent left, and could say,
'I used everything You gave me'.”

Not only did Bev use everything He gave her while here on earth, she continues to give of what she has even in her heavenly life.  When she passed, she requested donations to Safe Haven Ministries in lieu of flowers.  She was then honored by these funds being set aside as the “Random Acts of Bev” as a way to continue blessed our community with her talents and love in a way that honors her legacy.

Thus far, her memorial ministry has given:

  • Over 60 families in the Charlevoix area 25 books per family during the advent season through the “Books and a Blanket” Christmas project

  • Paid for lunches of the children at Charlevoix Elementary School who didn’t have lunch money.  (Something she did even while working as a secretary there)

  • Helped students succeed with tutoring during the pandemic

Her ministry, talents, and love continues to pour into the community she loved so much through Random Acts of Bev while she enjoys eternity with her Father.
